March Break at Tag Along Toys

sparklingexpressions celebrated March Break this year with everyone over at one of Ottawa's best toy stores, Tag Along Toys! (Kanata Location)  There was plenty of little shoppers and toy connoisseur's on hand to allow us to dazzle and decorate them with our glitter tattoo's. For a couple hours everyone was busy showing off their sparkles and smiles and for a brief period of time, everyone was anxious and quiet as all eyes in the store were focused intently on each and every glitter tattoo as they were created and delivered.

sparklingexpressions Helps Make A Wish Deliver One Little Girls Wish

As previously mentioned in another blog post, we had a busy last couple of months. This was by far, one of the most magical and fun blog posts to add in awhile. We were thrilled to be given the opportunity to help Make A Wish Eastern Ontario make yet another wish come true. On this day Miranda's wish to become a Princess for a day was made reality.

On this day, the Fairmont Chateau Laurier was her castle and home to the ballroom for her party and celebration. The staff and volunteers treated everyone who arrived as royalty and for an afternoon it was like truly being in a magical Cinderella story.

There was a limo service provided for transportation to and from, pampering and a spa visit for the princess and her family, and of course the dresses. A fabulous overnight stay at the Castle and of course a gourmet breakfast to start the day off. The RCMP were dressed in formal attire, lined up in formation and ready and on hand to salute Miranda's Royal entrance to the ballroom. Hundreds of guests and entertainers were eagerly awaiting her arrival and the Governor Generals personal representative as well as the Deputy Mayor of Ottawa were on hand to declare this day, Princess Miranda's day, and give her her royal sash and present her with her royal crown. Miranda was showered in gifts, smiles and magic and the not so little motorized pink car was definitely one of the highlight gifts. MDRN Photobooth was on hand to capture all the smiles, and there was dance performers,  and face painting as well as our glitter tattoo's and other various arts, crafts and treats. (can't forget the huge assortment of sugary treats at the candy bar, every child's, and mine's, dream) The following facebook page has a lot of information and pictures on this memorable day. Words can not describe the joy that was felt by everyone this day. The community really stepped up with the help of Make A Wish Eastern Ontario and the smiles that were seen say it all. Thank you Make A Wish for giving us the opportunity to take part in this magical and memorable day.

Ability First Ottawa Fundraiser

As previously mentioned in another blog post, we've had a busy couple of months and we wanted to take some time to share more information on some of the events we've been too. We were thrilled to be invited and take part in a fundraiser held at Boston Pizza in Barhaven Ontario for Ability First Ottawa. (A Special thanks to Boston Pizza for allowing this fun event to be hosted there) sparklingexpressions was on hand to help decorate everyone in attendance with out Glitter Tattoo's, with 20% of our proceeds going to this amazing community organization.

For those who are not familiar with Ability First Ottawa, a quick trip over to their website will provide you with a great deal of information on one of Ottawa's great community organizations. They are a non profit, charitable organization that provides services for those with and without special needs and disabilities. A truly great organization and a wonderful group of people.

On this night there was plenty of guest speakers, as well as comedian Michael Lifshitz and Boom 99.7's own Dylan Black! There were silent auctions, glitter tattoos, a raffle and of course great tasting food to be had! We had a great time and met a lot of wonderful and new friends.

Tie The Knot - Urban Wedding Show

As previously mentioned in an earlier blog post on what vinyl decals we've been cutting lately, sparklingexpressions was on hand for this years edition of the Tie the Knot - Urban Wedding Show held at the Museum of Nature in the Nations Capital. We cut in a premium grade vinyl their logo and applied it to the floor under an extravagantly decorated archway for everyone to see and admire as they made the rounds from wedding vendor to wedding vendor.

Ottawa has a lot of amazing wedding companies and this show showcased a great many of them. Well over 600 hundred people made their way through a snow blizzard to take in the show. Here are a few pictures of the logo and vinyl decal that was placed on their floor.

Busy Start to 2015

Well it has been well over a month since our last update to the blog. Long overdue and we thought we would share with everyone what we have been up to this last little bit.

With the end of January and our custom dance floor vinyl at the Wedding Palace Bridal Show, and our adventures at the Awesome Adventure Academy, the month of February started off  with an install at the Cookery Bistro in Kanata, as we installed one of our larger vinyl expressions to date. A 6 foot wide logo done up in a white vinyl on a black wall. You can't help but notice it! Many of you on Facebook have already seen these updates and pictures as well as others.

We also had the opportunity to cut some vinyl for one of Ottawa's well known photobooth companies. You may have seen MDRN Photobooth at one of many recent events throughout the National Capital.

As well we were on hand with our glitter tattoos for the celebration of 10 years in business for another well known Ottawa company. Sue's Sweets celebrated 10 years in business at the start of February and we were on hand to spread the joy with our glitter at the Westgate Shopping Centre. if you've never sampled any of Sue's sweets, then you are most definitely missing out.

Another big event we attended in late February was the Tie the Knot - The Urban Wedding Show, held at the museum of Nature. We had the honor of supplying the show with a personalized logo that greeted everyone as they made the rounds to see all the other great wedding industry professionals. This was also another great way for us to showcase "Wedding Dance Floor Vinyl" as well as Floor Vinyl in general.

As well, sparklingexpressions was on hand to do some glitter tattoos and help with fundraising for another great local community organization at Boston Pizza in Barhaven. That organization being Ability First Ottawa. Even Dylan Black from Boom was on hand and a fun time was had by all!

Not to be outdone for excitement and fun, the month of March saw us start off  with another wonderful and magical event. This was indeed an eye popping and smile filled day! sparklingexpressions was off to the Fairmont Chateau Laurier in downtown Ottawa for glitter, tattoos and fun! This day was all about Miranda, as her wish to become a princess was fulfilled by Make-A-Wish Eastern Ontario and everyone on hand.

The middle of March saw sparklingexpressions enjoying March Break with everyone at Tag Along Toys in Kanata. the Glitter was once again sparkling everywhere and smiles were plenty!  The following two pictures are a couple of the glitter tattoos seen about the toy store.

The First Annual Single Parent's Symposium was held just this past weekend, and took place on Ogilvie Road, and sparklingexpressions was on hand to entertain the little ones while their parents took in this informative event. The glitter tattoos and smiles were once again in full force!

The month of March will be capped off with a visit to see The Handmade Bride for some custom vinyl decals and another glitter tattoo birthday party. As you can see the blog may have been quiet but we've been a rather busy bunch. Not to mention some more exciting news to come that we've been working on the last two months to celebrate and start off the summer with. You don't want to miss this surprise announcement or event!
