Journey 24K Gold Carpet Event

The second annual Journey 24K Gold Carpet Event was a big success and sparklingexpressions was thrilled to have taken part in such a meaningful, inspiring and amazing event. Did we mention it was fun? Just take a look at all the smiling faces on the Facebook page at Journey 24K.

This gala was held at the Sala San Marco Banquet Hall, on Friday September 26th. The Journey 24K Gala is an annual event, with an evening of inspiration, entertainment and fundraising to benefit the Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Support Programs and CHEO. Funds raised at the Journey 24K will fund the "Party Like a Rock Star" program, a celebration for children who reach the end of their cancer treatment.

The nights festivities started off with a Gold Carpet Experience that included many local area businesses who donated their time and product to help make the evening an event to remember. sparklingexpressions was thrilled to be a proud sponsor decorating the Gold Carpet Experience runway, as well as setting up on the Gold Carpet with our gold awareness ribbons made of glitter tattoo's. 

Angie Poirier and Michael O'Byrne were the Gala hosts and it did not take them long to get everyone up on the dance floor, popping champagne bottles and most importantly, opening their wallets to help raise even more money for such an amazing cause. 

This night could not have happened if it was not for all the other amazing sponsors and businesses who rallied to help make the night happen.

Fundraiser for Lauren King

Many of our readers, fans, friends and customers are in the local Ottawa area, and some have been following the fundraiser event for Lauren King to help renovate her bathroom to meet her needs in a safe environment. It is with great pleasure to share the announcement on their Facebook page, announcing that their goal of raising $30,000 has been accomplished!

Over 200 likes have been made to the Fundraiser for Lauren King Facebook page since it was started in May of this year. And a great deal of local vendors, businesses and local media and personalities have taken part in the many events that took place throughout the spring and summer months. 

sparklingexpressions had the honor of attending the Fire Fighters Car Wash during July with our glitter tattoos, which was a great success, as were all the other events and raffles that have taken place. The previous link has a great many pictures of that days event which raised a total of $5324.07 towards her goal of $30,000.

Curbside Bites Food Truck Rally

On September 20th, St. Patrick's Home of Ottawa Foundation held their 1st annual  Curbside Bites Food Truck Rally and sparklingexpressions was in attendance.

For those who missed the event it was a great day as mother nature held off with the rain to allow everyone to come out and support a fun filled afternoon with music, live bands, appearances by local personalities , beer tasting, glitter tattoos and of course the many varieties of local food trucks.
